About Me

Hi. I’m Bailey.
I’m a thirty-something year old international solo traveler, who carries a pen. If you’re interested in the latest beach resorts, popular places to eat, or the “top five coolest things to see in Iceland” I kindly ask you to look elsewhere. My goal is to seek authenticity within each culture I immerse myself in. I like locations off the map and out of the social media spotlights. I first traveled to Panama when I was twenty-three with an International Medical Relief team. Existing amongst different tribes in northwestern Panama opened my eyes and my heart. It lit some sort of flame inside me that will never dwindle. I have a bachelor’s degree in biology and nursing. I have studied the world under a microscope, now it’s time to engage in the world on a bigger scale. Travel is my passion, but really it’s human nature to want to explore, rendering me not-so-unique. However, doing some main character sh*t like packing my bag, hitting the hostels and capturing each culture with words, does set me apart from most.

I would also like to preface my introduction with the humbling fact that I still work a (sort of) full time job as a travel ER nurse. I take three months off a year to “scratch the itch”. Solo travel is a unique and life changing experience. It can be difficult to share your experience exactly how you perceive it. I like to think I have the writing capabilities to effectively paint a picture of each culture I dive into. I want that picture to resonate with my readers, to give inspiration and information, with a splash of sarcasm and transparency.

Join me as I delve into unique locations sharing my experiences and interactions with the world. I focus on the local people, foods, traditions, beliefs, entertainment, medicine, and ways of living within each country I study. I will always incorporate my personal and raw experiences into my (mis)adventure stories, strap in.
